Now.. it’s Annabelle vs. Wilma?

According to a Phil. Daily Inquirer article there is something going on with Annabelle Rama and Wilma Galvante. Rama is the mother/manager of Richard Guiterrez and couple of contract stars of GMA 7 whiile Galvante is a top executive of TV network GMA 7.
It all started when the birthday celebration of GMA 7 top actors, Ding-Dong and Marian Rivera coincidentally happen on the same premier night of the movie “For the First Time,” starring Gutierrez and KC Concepcion.
Then, there’s Sharon and Annabelle interview where they talk about being upset with GMA 7 (Sharon’s show is with ABS-CBN). The Inquirer article mentioned about a text message to Galvante allegedly from Rama
GMA 7 top exec Wilma Galvante said she earlier received a text message from the Annabelle Rama, warning her, “Paglalaruan kita nang isang buwan.”
Loosely translated, “I will give you the runaround for a month.” Or something like that.
Other people think that having a variety of choices is healthy for a small and struggling Philippine entertainment industry.
Seiko Films producer Robbie Tan said it simply means “more choices” for the fans. “Variety [is good],” Tan said.
Concert promoter Danny Samonte, also known as Steve O’ Neal, did not see either side as suffering any adverse consequence because of the questioned scheduling. “The concert was only [for a night]. Fans have at least a week to see the movie.”
It was not even a problem of resources; the concert was free.
Tan said Rama should not raise such a ruckus. “If the movie is good, people will go and watch.”

According to showbiz news that Sharon Cuneta and Annabelle Rama were very disappointed with GMA 7 for doing the Marian and Ding Dong birthday concert on the same opening day of the movie “For The First Time” starring Richard Gutierrez, a Kapuso contract star and KC Concepcion, of Kapamilya and the first daughter of Sharon Cuneta.

Naked Arnel Pineda

I should have said half-naked.. Photos of Arnel Pineda singing in-front of thousands of screaming Journey fans.
According to a fan who watched the show..
he was actually focused on one young lady who wished to trade shirts with him. She pulled off her shirt(much more appealing for this male fan!), and tossed her shirt on stage to him. He then took off his shirt and tossed it to her so that she did not have to wander about the place in a state of undress that would get her arrested! It was a true rock and roll moment.

Kapuso signed Moymoy Palaboy

YouTube sensation Moymoy Palaboy has crossed over to mainstream television, joining the Kapuso network GMA 7’s gag show “Bubble Gang”. GMA Networks and MTV wanted to capitalize Moymoy’s online popularity which both company offered the duo a talent management contract and I guess a talent fee that they cannot refuse.
The brothers will reprises their gags in the segment, “Iyo Tube.” Aside from Buble Gang, they also have their own segments on MTV show in the Philippines.
Here’s an example what do they do when you only have creativity as your main tool.

CHARICE PEMPENGCO.. ‘BIRIT’ isn’t really singing?

An article in Philippine Daily Inquirer by Nestor Torre about Charice ‘Birit’ power which according to him is not singing but a form of calisthenics not singing.
Truth to tell, birit isn’t really singing, it’s vocal calisthenics, a prodigious display of physical musical prowess, and often sheer copycat imitation of a foreign belter’s amazing vocal pyrotechnics.
It’s high notes for high notes’ sake, and really quite shallow and dismaying. Trouble is, many people here are still blown away by sheer birit belting.
I don’t agree with that. It’s a shame to think belting is a form of imitating foreign performers, duh! it is a special skill/talent to hit those high notes without ending just screaming (although some end up doing it). I agree partially, it a sort of vocal pyrotechnics but hey! most people love pyrotechnics.. makes their blood circulate better and alive again.
To you Charice… ‘Birit’ is one of your unique asset as an artist make use of it to the fullest to get people attention.
